Sainte-Marie’s “First Light”

Now in its 20th year, Sainte-Marie’s “First Light” is a must-see event with a great lineup of family activities and performers, all amidst the spectacular glow of over 5,000 candles. The magic begins when visitors approach the candlelit historic site, as a beautiful amber glow illuminates the famous 17th-century mission.  Candlelit paths guide you throughout the historic site and up to Martyrs’ Shrine, leading to a variety of fun family activities.  he

Walmart Line Up

We arrived around 5pm on Saturday, December 7th. To our surprise the parking lot was full, so we had to drive to the local Walmart and wait in line to catch a bus to the event. We were not alone…..

We were presented with a Indigenous Area. We were treated to a drumming and singing by John Somosi in the Longhouse.

At 7pm we were treated with a Fireworks show. Truely a hightlight of our visit.

We found the best spot for the fireworks.
