What can I say. “Yummy For My Tummy”

Blueberry Risotto Base, Sirloin steak Grilled, Topped with Lemon Garlic Scallop. Served with Plum Compote “Ron’s Surf and turf”

A wonderful compliment to Sirloin Steak, is a Blueberry Risotto Base and topped with Tangy Lemon Garlic Scallop. Each layer seasoned with simple herbs from my garden. Blueberries from the local farm. To this meal we served a Red Wine, Rioja, from Spain. And some Plum Compote I made this summer.

IAPMA – The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists

The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists (IAPMA) is the world leading organisation for paper artists. It was founded in 1986 in Düren, Germany, when paper as an art medium was far less well-known than it is today. While paper history and production are one facet of the Association’s activities, the central focus is the role of paper as art form and contemporary artistic medium.

Wonderful Side Dish – Fondant Potatoes

Fondant potatoes, or pommes fondant, is a method of preparing potatoes that traditionally involves cutting them into cylinders, browning the ends, and then slowly roasting them in butter and stock.

The process is easy and the results are amazing. Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. A nice light taste of rosemary. A great side dish for any special occasion. Try it yourself. Recipe

Welcome to Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm

Maple Shop

Sugarbush Hill is a “State of the Art” sugaring operation in the heart of Muskoka, district of 1,600 lakes and endless forests. Situated just 10 minutes south of the picturesque Town of Huntsville, gateway to Algonquin Park and home of the 2010 G8 Summit. Sugarbush Hill is family owned and operated by Tom Stehr, family and friends.  We use the most sustainable fuel, “solid wood” to produce our excellent tasting maple syrup and maple value-added products.  How products are produced and the carbon footprint we leave behind is important, when choosing maple…choose wood-fired.
